Kevin-Prince Boateng completes Barcelona loan transfer with option to buy
Barcelona have signed former Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng on an initial loan deal until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old former Ghana international has joined from Italian club Sassuolo on a deal that includes an option to buy for £7.1million.
Boateng, who joined Portsmouth from Tottenham in 2009 before going on sign for AC Milan a year later, will be presented to the media on Tuesday.
The initial loan deal will reportedly set the Catalan giants back £1.75million.
The midfielder has been playing in a more advanced role in Italy and has netted four times in 13 appearances for the Serie A club.
Boateng has previously tried his hand in La Liga with Las Palmas, with whom he made 28 appearances for scoring 10.
The midfielder – who has represented a number of teams including Dortmund and Schalke and Hertha Berlin – later left Spain for German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.
